Children as young as age five years can begin learning to ride when they start with ‘Trail Rides’. 'Trail Rides' is a special experience that will teach them to get accustomed to mounting horses, familiarising them with the ritual of horse handling and understanding its behavior.
Formal riding lessons only begin at age seven, when children learn to start on the lunge – this establishes their basic posture and balance. Progress is gauged by instructors who will assess whether our young riders are ready to progress to group lessons. In these early yet formative years, more attention is given to the young riders to develop their skills and in getting their fundamentals right.
Emphasis is always placed on these fundamentals of horse riding therefore clinics and activities are facilitated during the school holidays to give the children more opportunities to hone in on their basic skills and instinct.
